Aditi Rao Hydari, who was last seen in Daas Dev, has come out in the open to speak about gender equality. Many actresses have expressed their displeasure over the gender discrimination, sexual harassment, pay disparity and many other issues that exist in the entertainment industry. When Aditi was asked about her opinion, she uninhibitedly decided to speak on it.

According to reports, Aditi Rao Hydari believes that education is of utmost importance to spread the message of gender equality. She also clearly demarcated about how literacy and education are different from each other. Rather, she stressed on the need for a wholesome education to bring about a gender balance. Aditi mentioned in reports that when one educates a girl, they educate the family and community thereby helping the country prosper.

Further, speaking on the subject, Aditi also described the importance of raising men with sensitivity. While she believes that women being educated will help the solve the problem of gender imbalance to an extent, bringing sensitivity in men will make it essential for them to have gender equality as an integral part of their lives.

Last seen in Daas Dev, which was another modern day and dark take of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Devdas, Aditi Rao Hydari also spoke about her career. While she is known for her unconventional roles, Aditi stated that she always gives her best irrespective of the screen time of her role. The actress, who as confessed by her, is working since 2010, is slowly and steadily trying to find her way in the industry.

Aditi Rao Hydari was also seen in the much acclaimed Padmaavat in which she played the role of Mehrunissa, the first wife of Alauddin Khilji, essayed by Ranveer Singh. The actress also shared screen space with Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the film.

Two months back we had reported that the much awaited Jab We Met reunion may not be happening. Shahid Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali, who were keen on collaborating, will not be working together anytime soon. While the fans of the duo are disappointed, let us tell you that Imtiaz Ali is looking forward to take the film ahead. However, the leading man would be someone else. If recent reports are to be believed, it is none other than Rajkummar Rao.

Earlier we had mentioned that both Imtiaz Ali and Shahid Kapoor had decided to put the film on the back burner. Despite the fact that they were looking forward to work with each other after almost a decade, plans of the film going on floor never materialized. Further, it was being said that the duo decided to put the film on hold.

But now, according to speculative reports, Shahid Kapoor has decided to completely pull out of the film as he is not interested in going ahead with it. However, it has been asserted that the relation between the actor and the director remains unaffected, despite Shahid’s decision.

On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao has stepped in for Shahid’s role. There are some reports suggesting that this Imtiaz Ali film was ideally a two-hero project which already featured Rajkummar as the parallel lead.  These reports claim that Rajkummar decided to fill in the shoes of Shahid Kapoor after the latter decided to quit the project. And, now the makers are currently on a hunt to find yet another actor to essay Rao’s original role.

It is also being said that the scripting may require changes to suit Rajkummar’s personality. Speaking on Rao, his forthcoming films include Mental Hai Kya with Kangana Ranaut, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga with Sonam Kapoor and Fanne Khan with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor.

As for Shahid Kapoor, his next includes Batti Gul Meter Chalu with Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. He is also said to have signed the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy.

It is twisty and wacky! That’s what the posters of Mental Hai Kya clearly indicated. Followed by the release of the dark yet quirky posters of Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao from the film, here is another bit of news that will leave you surprised! Amyra Dastur plays the love interest of Rajkummar.

Fans of the film Queen were happy to see the lead pair of the film return in Mental Hai Kya, albeit in a different avatar. But now, it seems amongst the many twists, one is that his romantic interest lies in Amyra. Whether it later falls on Kangana or no, is something only the makers can answer as of now.

However, what we do know is that even though Amyra is not the leading lady of the film, her character is supposed to be quite crucial in the film. Sources close to the actress said, “The story was so intriguing that she [Amyra] said yes to the film right away. All her three films have been announced back to back this year putting her into the list of busiest actors of Bollywood. Amyra slowly and steadily is carving her own path which will surely take her places.”

Speaking on Amyra, we saw the actress last seen in the Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Roy Kapur starrer Kaalakaandi earlier this year. Another film in the pipeline is Leena Yadav’s Rajma Chawal where she plays the rebellious love interest of Rishi Kapoor’s on-screen son. The actress has already completed the shoot of the same.

Recently it was announced that she will be playing the love interest of Ali Fazal in the remake of Telugu super hit film Prasthanam, titled as Prasthaanam in Hindi remake alongside Sanjay Dutt.

As for Mental Hai Kya, the film produced by Ekta Kapoor in association with Shailesh R Singh. It marks the Bollywood directorial debut of Prakash Kovelamudi.
