Although Bollywood isn’t her prime focus point as of now, Sunny Leone still has a lot on her platter. From her cosmetics range to a big budget multilingual period film, the actress has been juggling and dedicating time to all of them. It definitely isn’t an easy task for any star to prep for a period film, especially a historical tale. And now as a part of it, Sunny has kicked off her horse riding lessons for her next, Veeramadevi.

Readers may be aware that Bollywood celebrities go through extensive preparation and research for historical films. From learning combat to horse riding to sword fighting, it requires a lot of prep. Sunny Leone too, like other stars, kicked off her horse riding training sessions for Veeramadevi and posted about in on social media. She took to Twitter to share a video of her lessons and training.

The video features Sunny Leone galloping with many horses around her. The actress seems to have established a sort of comfort with the animal as she was seen fearlessly giving this shot on camera, despite the many horses that surrounded her. In her caption for the video, Sunny also confessed that she did her own stunts for her first shoot for the film.

‬‬Speaking on the film, Veeramadevi is slated to release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. It is directed by VC Vadivudiyan and stars Navdeep Pallapolu as the antagonist.

Renowned actor, producer and business magnate Sachiin Joshi is all set to return to the big screen this year. The actor who is known for his work in Telugu cinema and Bollywood will be seen opposite Nargis Fakhri in the upcoming thriller Amaavas.

Sachiin made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with Aazaan, post that he was seen in film Mumbai Mirror which also had Prakash Raj and Aditya Pancholi. The actor was last seen on screens in the Sunny Leone starrer Jackpot and is now all set with his next Amaavas opposite Nargis Fakhri.

Sachiin Joshi and Nargis Fakhri have wrapped up the 35 day schedule of Amaavas in London and is back to the city. Sachiin dons a broody avatar for the thriller and looks handsome as always. The actor will soon head to Europe to shoot the film’s songs along with Nargis Fakhri.

Sachiin Joshi will be seen in a thriller for the first time and it’s something his fans are eagerly looking forward to.

“I’m very honoured to receive the Sridevi memorial excellence award at the inaugural Jharkhand International Film Festival. Sri ma’am was my favourite and I’m really, really humbled at receiving this award in her name. It’ll only encourage me to do more,” said Priyanka Chopra in a video message yesterday May 27 at the awards night of Jharkhand International Film Festival. Priyanka’s mother Mrs Madhu Chopra and brother Sidharth Chopra received the award on her behalf. Mr Mahesh Bhatt gave away the award.

Dr Ashok Chopra Award was given away by Mrs Madhu Chopra to popular singer actress Sapna Chaudhury. “Thanks a lot for instituting an award in the name of my father. It means a lot to us as a family,” Priyanka said in her message.

Another important award was given away to Mr Mahesh Bhatt. It was Milestone of Jharkhand film policy award which was given away by actor Akhilendra Mishra. Mr Bhatt shot his film Begum Jaan in Dumka district of Jharkhand with full support from Rishi Prakash Mishra who’s the festival director of Jharkhand International Film Festival. Mr Bhatt thanked Mr Prakash for his support during Begum Jaan and he wished that the smaller film makers and story tellers will get more support so that they can continue telling stories without worrying about the funds.

Shoojit Sircar and Irrfan Khan came together for the unconventional film Piku, also starring Deepika Padukone. The director-actor duo is now all set to return for a screen adaptation of the life of martyr Udham Singh. Amidst many legendary heroes in our history who have contributed to the Indian Independence, Udham Singh is said to have played an integral role. Now, Shoojit confessed that he has indeed found his hero in Irrfan Khan.

However, it is also a known fact that Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine tumor and is undergoing treatment in Europe. But Shoojit Sircar is very positive about the current situation. He revealed that the actor is responding well to the treatment and should be soon on the road to recovery. In fact, Shoojit has confidently asserted that they should be starting the film by the end of this year. He also added that he will be visiting Irrfan and his family next month.

As far as his research for the film is concerned, Shoojit Sircar went on to confess that he wanted to make a film on Udham Singh since the time he arrived in Mumbai. Although he ended up making some versatile films in the past, this will be Shoojit’s first film on a patriotic martyr.

Speaking on how he has always idolized Udham Singh, Shoojit stated that this hero, despite his sacrifices hasn’t found his name in history. After Bhagat Singh, the work of Udham Singh was one of the major turning points in history. He mentioned that he visited Amritsar and Jallianwala Bagh in Punjab during his theatre days in 1995. That’s when he got inspired by the story of Singh who killed the then Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, Sir Michael O’Dwyer. The revolutionary did so to avenge the 1919 massacre.

On the other hand, Shoojit also confirmed that Irrfan Khan fits the bill perfectly. He believes that Irrfan has the finesse and depth that is required to play Udham Singh. Adding to it is also the fact that Irrfan is aware of the history of Punjab.

As mentioned before, Shoojit is expecting to kick off the film by the end of this year.

We have been waiting with bated breathe for Deepika Padukone to announce a new film soon after Padmaavat and looks like the wait is over now. For the uninitiated, the leggy lass was supposed to do a gangster film based on Mumbai mafia queen Sapna Didi. Irrfan Khan was supposed to play a male lead with her but owing to his ill health, the film was postponed. Post that, her fans and industry alike were super eager for Deepika to sign a film soon. She specified that she wanted to do a light hearted love story next and now, there is a speculation again that she has signed a superhero film next with Fox Star Studios and it is set to be made on a MASSIVE scale. There is a buzz that DP has finally locked on the script after curating through many projects and she is very excited to do an out-an-out action film.

Interestingly, Deepika’s ex Ranbir too will be seen in a superhero film next. We can’t help but draw the parallels here. Looks like after historical biographies and love stories, superhero films will be a new trend in Bollywood. If of course masses lap them up. Only time will tell if filmmakers will be able to crack the formula or no!

On personal front, there is a speculation that Deepika Padukone will get married to Ranveer Singh sometime in November.

Well, many films which feature Ranbir Kapoor as the leading man have been shown to Rishi Kapoor. For the uninitiated, the teaser of Sanju that released recently showcased the varied avatars sported by real life Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in his life span. The film is expected to showcase his life until he was released from imprisonment. The said teaser of Sanju was welcomed with mixed reactions but if there was one factor that everyone agreed to was the striking resemblance.

Many accepted that Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor had a striking similarity in the trailer and that the Kapoor lad imbibed Dutt’s behavior with aplomb. Similar was the opinion of Rishi Kapoor. He was not only impressed with his son’s homework on Sanjay Dutt but he was completely blown away with it. Furthermore, the veteran actor was shown some more glimpses of the film to get his opinion. Seeing it, Rishi Kapoor seems to have had a tear or two in his eyes, according to recent reports.

These reports also suggest that when Ranbir Kapoor was told about the reaction, he too got emotional after listening to his father’s reaction on the film. It is not a new fact that Ranbir Kapoor has always respected and admired his father’s work. He also considers his opinion on films as very integral and hence owing to the same, his reaction on Sanju left Ranbir overwhelmed.

Speaking on Sanju, it is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Fox Star Studios. It features an ensemble cast of Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal with Anushka Sharma in a cameo. It is slated to release on June 29.
