The plot unravels in the year of 1943 in Italy occupied by Nazi at a camp for war prisoners. A colonel piloting a plane is shot down. He ends up in the camp, but refuses to give up. The protagonist devises a crazy plan of escape. A small group, consisted of British prisoners with colonel in the lead hijacks a train.
